6 charges issued by York Region COVID-19 enforcement task force

Three businesses in Vaughan have been charged for not complying with COVID-19 re-opening rules in the past two weeks.

The York Region COVID-19 enforcement task force inspected 455 business between Nov. 15 and 28 and issued six charges.

Vaughan bylaw officers laid two charges at Golden Sunshine Spa, located at 180 Winges Rd. in Vaughan. One was for a worker failing to wear a face mask while providing services and the other for another individual failing to wear a face mask.

NCI Vaughan Iceplex, at 7551 Jane St., was charged by York Region Public Health for not maintaining a contact list.

York Region Public Health also issued a charge at 168 Asian Sushi Buffet, located at 103-1520 Steeles Ave. W in Vaughan. They were charged for "fail to comply with a Continued Section 7.0.2. Order." However, the region did not say what the specific offence was.

Along with the six charges laid, there were 456 compliance education activities completed in York Region. Six of those were in the Town of Newmarket.
