Next year will be an interesting one. Election Year, so much to reflect upon from the past three-and-a-half years as we decide whom will govern both locally and provincially.

Looking forward to the future, many towns such as Georgina have a unique responsibility to offset their carbon foot print. Georgina is at the start of a very large growth plan, thousands of acres of farm land, trees, and vegetation being lost -- this vegetation works to reduce the carbon footprint.

The industry, housing, and other developments planned increase our carbon footprint -- net result: GLOBAL WARMING. We have seen the result of which on both sides of Canada.

A question we all would like answered sooner rather than later is: what plans have council made to offset the town's increase of carbon emissions from this development?

I am you sure you all have taken these into consideration. We also assume changes are well under way in the local building codes, together with safety issues such as hurricane brackets for all roofing.

York Region is at fault, playing politics with Lake Simcoe instead of considering the environment.

Doug Ford is looking for votes with new highways. Has no one informed him that urban sprawl follows highways? Apparently not.

To all those who are voted in next election, please concentrate on important issues and not petty personnel ones.
