Stouffville Strawberry Festival looking for new volunteers for 2022

The Stouffville Strawberry Festival is ramping up to return in 2022, after the past two years were cancelled due to COVID-19. While the Board of Directors is busy planning for the event Friday July 1 to Sunday July 3 its become clear they need more help.

“We need all kinds of volunteers. We need people to step up to the plate,” Mike Burns, president of the Strawberry Festival board of directors said. “We need people to join the board of directors and the join the committee.”

Burns said they are busy planning for the next festival and are focusing on the theme of Welcome Back Stouffville. “We are planning to host the biggest and best festival ever, but can't do it without the help of volunteers,” he said.

Burns said the Strawberry Festival is planning five pre-festival events to generate energy, excitement and anticipation for the 2022 fun: The Stouffville Home Show, as well as June 4, 11, 18 and 25 -- locations to be determined.

Some of the exciting thing Burns and the team have planned for the festival include the Festival Peoples Parade, carnival rides, fireworks, live entertainment and food trucks.
