COUNCIL CONNECTION: Budget approvals mean upgrades for Georgina's Ward 5

I am pleased to say that things are coming along for Ward 5 residents! We had some very interesting budget discussions this year, with many projects for the area receiving approval.

Council approved $1.4 million for recreational amenities in Pefferlaw. Once all the information from the Needs Study is received and processed, the results will be announced, leading to a decision on what will be built in the Ward 5 area.

In addition, $1 million has been dedicated to the restoration of the Pefferlaw Dam.

We were thrilled to host the official opening of the new Pefferlaw Fire Hall, where residents had the opportunity to tour this beautiful new addition to our community.

2022 will see the reconstruction of Irving Drive in Port Bolster, as well as the engineering report coming forward to council for road work to be completed for Estonian Children's Camp in Udora.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mayor Margaret Quirk and Georgina council for their full support of the above-noted projects.

These improvements will be greatly appreciated by the residents of Ward 5.

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Please stay safe and remember to keep the kids away from frozen ponds, rivers and the lake, as they are not safe at this time.
