If you're planning for the upcoming winter season, the Town of Newmarket has released their activity guide with fitness, swimming, arts programs and more for people of all ages.
"Flip through these pages to discover the variety of activities Newmarket has to offer, such as swimming, journal writing to name a only a few. Whether you're looking to grow your sports skills, craving adult time and support, exploring a new passion, or looking for a break from the home office, we have something for you," Mayor John Taylor said in the guide introduction.
The guide is only available digitally this year and can be accessed on the town website.
In December 2021 and into the new year, there are programs scheduled at the Elman W. Campbell Museum, the Newmarket Public Library, and various municipal facilities throughout town.
Under the arts and culture section there are dance, cooking, and visual arts classes for children, youth and adults, as well as Spanish and French classes for people 16 and older.
You can also sign your children up for March break camps or PA day programs.
If getting fit will be one of your New Year's resolutions, you can register for fitness progams like BollyX, a Bollywood-inspired dance fitness class, partner yoga or POUND Fitness.
There are a number of programs for pre-schoolers, children, teens, people with special needs, adults, and those who are 55+.
The guide also features information about swimming lessons, which will start in January.
There are also swimming leadership programs for those wishing to pursue a lifeguard certification.
Registration for all the programs can be completed online or in person, at customer service kiosks.
For Newmarket residents, you can register beginning on Dec. 8 at 8 a.m. Non-residents can register for programs on Dec. 15 at 8 a.m.
Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 is required to enter a municipal facility or participate in an event or program for everyone aged 12 and up.
