Time is running out for Burlington residents to have their say about the City’s proposed 2022 budget.

Right now, the forecast is for a 5.45 per cent hike in the city portion of your taxes, but Mayor Marianne Meed Ward has publicly stated on more than one occasion she feels that number is too high and city council will work to lower it.

The next virtual meeting where the budget will be discussed is tomorrow (Tuesday, Nov. 30) at the Corporate Services, Strategy, Risk and Accountability Committee at 9:30 a.m.

If necessary, it will continue Thursday, Dec. 2 at 9:30 a.m.

Final approval of the City’s 2022 budget by Burlington City Council will take place at a regular meeting of Burlington City Council on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m.
