The annual Holiday Fair in the Square is moving north for its fifth season from Nov. 26 to Jan. 2.

While the fair has been held at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto the past few years, for 2021 they are partnering with Night of Lights, an immersive holiday experience, and will be moving to the Assembly Park in Vaughan.

They were unable to hold the Holiday Fair in the Square last year due to the pandemic, so this year's organizers said they want it to be even bigger.

“After missing the 2020 holiday season due to COVID restrictions, we knew that we had to come back bigger and better this year to celebrate the return of Holiday Fair in the Square,” said Geoff Bobb, executive director of Epilepsy Toronto. “A winter carnival, lights, shopping, food -- there is no other holiday event like ours in the GTA.”

Some proceeds from the event go to support the Toronto-based charity, which provides programming and support for people living with epilepsy.

The attractions for the 2021 outdoor event include a holiday midway with carnival games and rides like a ferris wheel, live entertainment, and an artisan marketplace for visitors to do some Christmas shopping.

There will also be food trucks and gourmet food vendors through the fair, with a fireside lounge where you can enjoy the eats.

They also have the Polar Point Bar where you can buy a beverage, and since the entire event is licensed, you can wander around, drink in hand.

The event is partnered with Night of Lights, which offers participants a 45 minute walk-through experience of holiday light-displays synchronized to festive music.

The Holiday Fair in the Square will be set up right at the end of the Night of Lights walk-through so you will be able to go straight from one to the other.

While tickets are required to attend the Night of Lights and can be purchased online, admission to the Holiday Fair in the Square is free.

The fair will take place at 80 Interchange Way, in Vaughan.
