If you want to provide input on what the future of Stouffville looks like, the town is hosting a housing summit on Dec. 9
The event will bring people from the community together to talk about housing and all the aspects of planning that the town needs to consider to support housing for all.
With the input of residents, Stouffville is working on a housing strategy in support of the creation of a new Official Plan for the town. The strategy will address a full range of housing issues, including affordable and rental housing, homelessness and emergency housing, transitional and supportive housing, market rentals and home ownership.
Free registration is open by visiting bit.ly/dec9summitreg. The meeting runs from 7 to 9 p.m.
In the past two years, massive development in Stouffville has been approved through Ministerial Zoning Orders for the block of land between Hwy. 48 and McCowan Road and Stouffville Road and 19th Avenue. Roughly 4,500 homes have been approved for this area through MZOs.
