Stouffville Chamber of Commerce launches program to shop local this holiday season

The Stouffville Chamber of Commerce is looking to help people shop local this holiday season.

The group received a grant to promote additional programs and incentives that will spotlight the local business community in Stouffville from now until the end of January 2022.

Some programs that are scheduled include: A series of videos that showcase a variety of things to see and do in Stouffville as well as some of the places to dine and shop. All videos are available on the recently launched community website www.discoverstouffville.ca

A Holiday Gift Guide spotlighting over 60 businesses that can be found at www.discoverstouffville.ca

“We are so grateful to receive this grant. It provides us with the funds required to do even more to help the local businesses and our community as a whole. This winter we invite all residents to discover/rediscover Stouffville and all the wonderful things it has to offer,” said Karen Wootton, executive director of the Stouffville Chamber of Commerce.

Starting mid-November there will be a Self With An Elf Social Media photo contest, which runs until Dec. 24. Be on the lookout for the elves that will be out and about this holiday season visiting local businesses. Consumers are invited to take a selfie with an elf, then submit it online for a chance to win prize(s). 

The Shop Local Bingo contest will launch on boxing day and encourage community engagement and post-holiday shopping. This contest will run until Jan. 24, 2022.

All prizes for both contests are from local merchants.
