Which of these Newmarket services is most important to you?

Recreational programs and events or funding for parks and trails?

Or maybe investing in roads and sidewalks?

Or perhaps supporting local businesses?

Or are all of these equally important to you?

As council eyes a possible 1.99-per-cent tax increase on the town portion of the property tax bill as it hashes out the 2022 budget, residents are being asked to complete an online survey ranking services that are most important to them.

Participants will be entered in a draw to win a $100 gift card to a local Newmarket business in support of the Choose Local program at newmarket.ca/chooselocal.

The survey closes on Nov. 19.

“The world has changed these past 18 months, and we know that the financial effects of the pandemic continue to weigh on some of our residents and businesses,” Mayor John Taylor said.

“Council is committed to doing everything we can to maintain our high level of services while keeping tax rates in Newmarket 10-per-cent lower than the rest of the GTA.” Mayor John Taylor said.
