Southlake Regional Health Centre is moving its COVID-19 assessment centre location at the end of the month.

The centre will open at 22 Prospect St. on Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.

The current location at the Newmarket Seniors’ Meeting Place at 474 Davis Dr. will close on Oct. 28 at 2 p.m.

Appointments booked for or after Oct. 29 will take place at the new location.

Appointments scheduled prior to Oct. 29 will take place at the Seniors’ Meeting Place.

The seniors’ centre has housed the assessment centre for the last year.

It has been closed as a seniors’ centre as a result of the pandemic since March 2020 and the town is working to reopen the facility for programming by mid-November.

Once the new location at 22 Prospect opens, it will operate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.

Clients must schedule appointments, which can be booked online at https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/southlakeregionalhealthcentre@shinepartners.ca/bookings/

The centre won’t accept drop-ins.

Wait times for test results depend on the number of tests that labs are processing. Results are available on the provincial website at https://covid19results.ehealthontario.ca:4443/agree.

Limited free parking is available and there is additional paid parking in the hospital’s parking garage across the street.
