With winter around the corner, it’s time to put away the summer toys.

As of Oct. 31, seasonal storage of any summer leisure vehicle -- boat, trailer or RV -- will no longer be permitted on residential properties.

Snowmobiles and other winter vehicles can be stored seasonally from Nov. 1 to March 31.

In 2017, Georgina introduced new zoning regulations for leisure vehicle storage on residential properties.

The zoning regulation applies to all single-family dwellings, both detached and semi-detached homes as well as for permanent, seasonal and temporary storage.

Permanent storage of boats or RVs may be permitted on residential property if the property meets all the lot and setback requirements as outlined by the new zoning requirements.

The town’s leisure vehicle guide outlines requirements for each size and type of home and includes where and how boats and RVs can be stored on the property.

For any questions or concerns, contact the town’s bylaws division at 905-476-4301 ext. 2279.
