More improvements coming soon to North Maple Regional Park!

Park improvements continue to ensure Vaughan’s great outdoors can be enjoyed for years to come. Most recently, the City of Vaughan is enhancing the trail system at North Maple Regional Park, including paving existing trails, adding new trails, providing additional seating, planting more trees and flowers, installing new signage, and replacing the Nevada Park Bridge. Construction is expected to start this fall and is anticipated to wrap up by spring 2022.

To ensure the safety of workers and those who visit the park, access to some trail areas will be restricted during this time. Park visitors are asked to follow construction signage and not enter work zones. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times. The City will make every effort to reduce the impacts to citizens; however, there may be dust and construction noise as work is completed. Construction will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday, with after-hours and weekend work as required.

The 900-acre vision for North Maple Regional Park makes this the City's most ambitious park development yet, and once fully developed, the park will be larger than New York City's Central Park. Located at 11085 Keele St., North Maple Regional Park is a destination of choice for residents and visitors alike with five kilometres of trails; two FIFA-certified artificial turf soccer fields with spectator seating; a park pavilion with washrooms, a terrace, changerooms and water fountains; shaded picnic areas; a toboggan hill and ample parking. Phase 1 of this signature park and world-class recreation and culture destination was completed in 2019, and Phase 2 is expected to begin later this year. A phased construction approach will continue throughout the next few years.

A portion of this trail enhancement project is being funded by the Investing In Canada Infrastructure Program Grant.

These improvements support the City’s continued dedication to a safe and accessible trail network. They also further align with Vaughan’s commitment to fostering active, safe and diverse communities that are environmentally sustainable and inclusive, as outlined in the 2018-2022 Term of Council Service Excellence Strategic Plan.
