Celebrate Small Business Week, Georgina style.

The Georgina Chamber of Commerce is hosting a collection of events featuring local businesses across town, including the annual Discover Georgina scavenger hunt.

The special Shop Local Georgina edition of the scavenger hunt is Oct. 16, 1 to 4 p.m.

The family-friendly event will see residents travel to every corner of town to find local gems and compete for prizes by driving to as many stops as possible and answering a series of location-specific questions.

The chamber is also hosting a collection of free business webinars from Instagram know-hows to tax essentials for businesses.

The free webinars include:

Oct. 18:

How to Rock Instagram Like a Pro -- learn how to build strong, engaging content along with app tips and tricks;

Meet and greet Chamber lunch -- A space to meet someone new, share your expertise in your field and grow your network.

Oct. 19:

Chamber 101 -- Learn the benefits of being a chamber member and how the chamber can help meet your business needs during this difficult time;

Founder Fundamentals: Attracting Your Dream Client -- Learn how to grow your business and attract a steady stream of clients.

Oct. 20:

Business Bounce Back Workshop -- Discover York University’s new YSpace designed to support businesses in the hospitality and tourism sector;

Business Resources at Your Fingertips -- Georgina Public Library shows you how to access a multitude of business resources through your local library;

Oct. 21:

Vaccine Mandates in the Workplace -- Learn from top employment lawyers the dos and don’ts of implementing an employee vaccine mandate, COVID-19 testing policies and the challenges that may arise;

Georgina Business Excellence Awards and Mayor and Council’s Milestone Awards -- Celebrate the successes of local businesses, entrepreneurs and not-for-profit organizations. New this year is a special pandemic category, honouring local businesses that found innovative ways to respond and adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Oct. 22:

Seven Essentials for Small Business Success -- Learn best practices in accounting and business taxes from local experts.
