Town of Newmarket flags flew at half-mast at all municipal facilities for longtime employee Wes Cook, who died Oct. 3.

The town called Cook, who worked for the municipality for 31 years, a dedicated member of its team.

“Wes was always willing to jump into any task with both feet, he was a great co-worker but also a great friend to many and will be missed tremendously,” the town said in a statement.

The town is saddened by Cook’s death, Mayor John Taylor said.

“He was deeply loved by his co-workers and will be greatly missed by his many friends at the Town of Newmarket and the public works department. Our deepest condolences are with his family during this difficult time,” he said.
