York Region Transit announces schedule, route changes starting Sept. 5

York Region Transit has announced bus schedule and route changes starting Sept. 5.

The changes are intended to meet shifting customer demands, according to a news release issued Sept. 2 by the Region of York.

Changes include the return of all 400-series school special routes and connections.

Other changes include:

• various schedule adjustments for Viva Blue, Viva Purple and Route 12;

• the Viva Purple branch on Enterprise Boulevard will be renamed Viva Purple A;

• Routes 23 (Thornhill Woods) and 470 (Westmount Collegiate School Special via Thornhill Woods) will be adjusted to operate on Ilan Ramon Boulevard instead of Bathurst Street; and

• Route 57A-Mulock is renamed Route 57-Mulock.

Due to the impacts of COVID-19, many YRT Services will not be operating, or will operate on a reduced schedule, until further notice.

During September, YRT will continue to review connections between school bell times and transit services operating to schools.

Schedule adjustments may be made for the upcoming October school period to make better school bell time connections.
