Peel organizations hosting Culture Days events for Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon residents to enjoy

This year's Culture Days festival is set to launch on Friday, Sept. 24 with thousands of events for Canadians to enjoy both virtually and in person in adherence with health and safety guidelines.

Now in its 12th year, Culture Days programs have attracted an estimated 2 million annual attendees to thousands of free activities and performances.

Here is a look at some of the events staged by Peel organizations for individuals and families to enjoy throughout Culture Days, which concludes on Oct. 24.

Brampton Library: Brampton Library has a plethora of events to enjoy as part of Culture Days, including various local author showcases, performances, art workshops and more.

Reimagine with a Sunrise: Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives has created an activity guide for families to create a beautiful sunrise throughout the duration of Culture Days. Sunrises represent the start of a new day where anything is possible.

Chinese Performing Arts Show: The Mississauga Chinese Arts Organization (MCAO) will present various performances, dances, Chinese traditional music, a Chinese Qi Pao show and more. Performances will take place on Saturday, Sept. 25 (2 p.m. to 4 p.m.), Sunday, Oct. 3 (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and Wednesday, Oct. 20 (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.).

Family Recipe Month: Caledon Public Library is inviting the public to share a photo of their favourite culturally significant dish and a recipe card for everyone to enjoy. These dishes will be added to the library's Celebration of Foods album on social media.
