A 10-year-old girl has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by an SUV in a Thornhill residential area.
On Sept. 1, shortly after 1 p.m., York Regional Police tweeted that the road on Pleasant Ridge Avenue, between Basie Gate and Coltrane Drive, was closed for investigation after an SUV struck a child at 10:45 a.m.
Police are seeking witnesses to the incident.
The girl was riding her bike at the time of the collision, Const. Laura Nicolle said.
The 33-year-old driver of the SUV - a Santa Fe- was not injured and remained on the scene, police said.
