Pop-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic offered at Newmarket Legion Wednesday

The Newmarket branch of the Royal Canadian Legion is hosting a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The clinic at 707 Srigley St. will be accepting walk-ins for both first and second vaccine doses.
Both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available.
This is one of six pop-up clinics running in York Region between Aug. 31 and Sept. 2.
Today, Aug. 31, a clinic is being held at Legion branch 414, at 60 Legion Court Rd. in Vaughan from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and another is taking place at Niagara University at 2904 Highway 7, also in Vaughan, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Along with the Newmarket pop-up on Sept. 1, a clinic is being held at the Father Ermanno Bulfon Community Centre, at 8141 Martin Grove Rd., in Vaughan from noon to 7 p.m.
On Thursday, Sept. 2, there will be two more clinics in Vaughan; at the RioCan Colossus Centre, at 7501 Weston Rd. from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.; and at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre at 101 Edgeley Blvd. from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The pop-up clinics on Thursday will only be offering Pfizer only.
These clinics are being held in an effort to make vaccines accessible and boost immunization rates, according to a York Region email statement.
As of Aug. 29, 879,225 York Region residents, or 83.5 per cent of the population age 12 and up, had received at least one dose, while 822,937 residents, or 78.2 per cent of the eligible population is considered fully vaccinated.
