For the fifth year in a row, Richmond Hill is offering new and growing companies up to $5,000 in grants to start and expand their businesses.

Funded by the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, the city's Starter Company Plus program helps entrepreneurs gain skills and knowledge with business education and training, and capital and professional advice.

New this year, the city has partnered with York University's YSpace to launch support for food venture startups.

As the founder of Ontario's first food and beverage accelerator supporting scale-ready food and beverage ventures, YSpace is uniquely positioned to help food and beverage entrepreneurs gain the necessary skills and knowledge to start or grow their business.

The Starter Company Plus program is open to Richmond Hill residents who are 18 years or older and not in full-time school or work.
