Coming soon to a park near you!

Newmarket’s Moonlight Movies return this August with a line-up of feature films playing in various parks throughout the town.

The first movie night will be held on Monday, Aug. 9 at Rogers Public School at 256 Rogers Rd. That night they will be showing School of Rock.

There is no admission fee to attend, however, registration is required in advance and is open to Newmarket residents only.

Registration for the Moonlight Movies has not yet opened, but once it’s available, residents can reserve their spot online.

Those who are attending will need to show their proof of registration and are advised to bring a number of other items to make the most of the event.

Movie-goers should bring a lawn chair or blanket, snacks and beverages, as none will be available on site, a flashlight and bug spray.

During the event, a physical distance of two meters will be required between groups, and you should bring a mask for times when distancing isn’t possible.

Portable washrooms and hand-washing stations will be set up on site.

Different parks will host the films through August:

Beethoven: Tuesday, Aug. 31, College Manor Park, entry at 7:45 p.m. and showtime at 8:15 p.m.
