The Town of Newmarket is launching a new range of recreation and culture programs this fall that will comply with COVID-19 protocols.
The municipality has unveiled a slate of fall programs that include fitness, sports, book clubs, art and swimming.
You can check out the available programs online, as the town will not be printing a guide this year.
“Programs will look a bit different this fall as we navigate various public health requirements,” director of recreation and culture Colin Service said.
Registration for Newmarket residents for fall programming will be available starting Thursday, Aug. 26 at 8 a.m. Registration for non-residents will open one week later, Sept. 2 at 8 a.m.
In addition to scheduled programs, the town said it is expanding its array of drop-in programming, with weekly programs from the summer continuing into the fall. Drop-ins still require pre-registration every Sunday at 8 a.m., and the town said it will post more programs in the future.
Fall programming information is available at newmarket.ca/activityguide. Registration is available at play.newmarket.ca or by calling the customer service department at 905-895-5193. You can also inquire about programs by contacting recreation@newmarket.ca.
“We are excited that we are still able to offer a wide range of programs for all ages that includes inclusion and special needs programming, and will ensure all participants have a safe and enjoyable time,” Service said.
