Ribfest, theatres, shopping centres pop up with vaccines across York Region

Vaughan, Newmarket, Aurora, Stouffville, Richmond Hill, Georgina and Markham offer quick access to shots

Still looking for an easier way to get your COVID-19 vaccine?

The Region of York is offering 17 pop-up clinics in the coming week.

They’ll be providing both Moderna and Pfizer, and will be open to walk-ins for first and second doses.

All children born in 2009 are now eligible for vaccines.

“York Region welcomes this news as it will support a safer return to school,” said Dr. Karim Kurji, local medical officer of health.

Two doses of the vaccine provide strong protection against COVID-19 infection and severe outcomes, he said.

While mass vaccination centres will be closing at the end of August, there is still time to get your vaccine at the new Community Hub clinic in the York Region administrative centre at 17250 Yonge St. in Newmarket, or one of the new pop-ups open this week.
