Three confirmed cases of COVID-19 linked to wedding events at La Primavera event space in City of Vaughan

York Region Public Health is notifying people who attended a wedding shower on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 and/or a wedding on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at La Primavera Event Space about a potential exposure to COVID-19. La Primavera Event Space is located at 77 Woodstream Boulevard in the City of Vaughan.

York Region Public Health continues to investigate and conduct case and contact management. To date, 3 laboratory-confirmed cases among York Region residents have been associated with these events.

Individuals at either of these events, including all guests and staff, should take the following actions:

• Get tested for COVID-19 at a COVID-19 Assessment Centre as soon as you are able, even if you are currently asymptomatic; if you are currently experiencing symptoms, no matter how mild they may seem, self-isolate immediately and seek assessment and testing at a COVID-19 Assessment Centre
• Monitor yourself for new/worsening signs and symptoms related to COVID-19 until Monday, August 23, 2021 (10 days after last possible exposure)
• Anyone experiencing at least one symptom of COVID-19 or exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19 is encouraged to visit an Assessment Centre for testing

This applies to all guests and staff and includes those who are fully vaccinated. Notifications such as this public notice are not required under the provincial case and contact management guidance; however, York Region Public Health issues these out of an abundance of caution to keep our communities safe.

Important reminders for all residents: York Region Public Health reminds all residents about the importance of providing a history of all contacts and contact information if you test positive for COVID-19. This is crucial to the prevention and control of this pandemic.

Close contact continues to be the largest factor in the spread of the COVID-19 virus in York Region. Providing Public Health with a history of all contacts and contact information if you test positive for COVID-19 helps us with contact tracing, our most effective tool to slow the spread of the virus and interrupt further transmission.

It is extremely important to be honest about your recent actions and interactions. Please work with us to support our contact tracing efforts as we work to slow the spread of COVID-19 to keep you, your family and our communities safe.

As COVID-19 continues to circulate in the community, residents are reminded to follow public health advice to wash hands often, practice physical distancing, wear a mask in public spaces and remain at home if you are sick. Residents are also encouraged to download the COVID Alert App.
