Available now at a mall near you: an easier way to get your Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines.
The Ontario Ministry of Health and Canadian Red Cross are hosting a series of mall pop-up vaccination clinics across York Region, starting with two shopping centres in Vaughan and Richmond Hill.
These clinics -- at Promenade and Hillcrest malls July 21 and 22 -- offer walk-in first and second dose shots to anyone 12 and older who lives, works or goes to school in York Region.
Vaccines will be available between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. No appointment is required.
The walk-in clinics will be held outdoors so weather-appropriate dress is recommended.
These clinics are in addition to walk-ins open to first and second doses for eligible individuals at eight other locations across the Region: Aaniin Community Centre in Markham, Cornell Community Centre in Markham, Georgina Ice Palace in Georgina, Maple Community Centre in Vaughan, Ray Twinney Complex in Newmarket, Richmond Green Centre in Richmond Hill, SoccerCity Drive-Thru in Whitchurch-Stouffville and Trisan Centre in King.
Walk-in hours vary at each York region clinic. For more information, or to book an appointment if you cannot attend a walk-in clinic, visit York.ca/COVID19Vaccine.
More than 80 per cent of eligible people in York Region aged 12 and older have received their first dose and more than 65 per cent are now fully vaccinated. The additional walk-ins are an effort to further increase access to the vaccines, said York Region spokesperson Patrick Casey.
