A new chapter starts soon at the Newmarket Public Library with the appointment of an incoming CEO.

Tracy Munusami takes up her new post Aug. 3.

She replaces Todd Kyle, who left in January to take over as CEO of Brampton Library.

Retired deputy Linda Peppiatt returned to support the library during the search for a new CEO.

Munusami spent the last four years as manager of service excellence with Oshawa Public Libraries, where she assisted with breaking down systemic barriers through innovative policy and procedural initiatives as well as navigating her team and keeping them motivated through the COVID-19 pandemic, Newmarket’s library board said in a statement.

She has previous experience at Barrie Public Library and Innisfil Public Library, where she held a variety of positions, including manager of adult and community services and youth services librarian.

“The Newmarket Public Library board is enthusiastic about the appointment of Tracy Munusami as the Library’s new CEO,” said Newmarket Library board chair, Darcy McNeill, said.

“Tracy’s strong leadership skills, commitment to delivering innovative technology and strong ability to form community connections will help staff at the Newmarket Public Library to continue inspiring growth.”
