Vaughan’s annual Concerts in the Park event series has returned for another year via a virtual livestreaming format, with weekly concerts extending to the end of July.

The series typically brings a variety of musical artists to Vaughan’s Transit Square for free shows that see thousands of spectators in attendance. This year’s Concerts in the Parks will instead be streamed live over the internet.

The series kicked off on June 16 with a performance by Canadian glam-rock veterans Platinum Blonde. Many of the weekly shows will be tributes to established musical acts, such as Bob Marley, Shania Twain and Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, which are all to be performed by cover artists. There will also be a “Disco Fever” show with an assortment of songs from the 1970s pop genre.

Each concert stream will run for approximately an hour. The concert series is sponsored by a number of local businesses and groups, such as Best Way Stone, LiUNA Local 183 and Menkes. Organisers of events like this often use brochure printing to advertise the acts and sponsors involved in such shows.

Vaughan Concerts in the Park will take place every Wednesday until July 28, and shows will be streamed on the City of Vaughan’s website. Highlights are available on the City of Vaughan’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
