York Region continues to push the needle for COVID-19 vaccinations with 58,000 new appointments

The Region of York continues its push to see residents receive COVID-19 vaccinations.

An additional 58,000 COVID-19 vaccine appointments are being made available across York Region starting July 13, according to the municipality.

The appointments for first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine are available to anyone at least 12 years old who attends school, works or resides in York Region starting at 8 a.m.

The appointments are also available to people seeking earlier second-dose time slots.

New appointments can be booked online or by telephone by visiting www.york.ca/COVID19Vaccine or by calling Access York at 1-877-464-9675.

Additionally, walk-ins for first doses only are available to anyone age 12 years and older at the several clinics across the region. They include:

 

The Cornell Community Centre in the City of Markham will begin accepting walk-ins for first doses on July 13.

All other vaccination clinics, including pop-up clinics, remain by appointment only.

In Vaughan, a drive-through COVID-19 vaccine clinic at Emily Carr Secondary School in Vaughan is open and will run weekly Sunday to Wednesday until Aug. 18. Appointments are required.
