Brampton celebrates Seniors Month with activities for residents

June is Seniors Month and Brampton has a range of activities for senior residents in the city. Events are happening virtually the entire month, allowing residents to connect over various discussions and activities.

Senior Centre Without Walls

The free telephone program allows residents to connect and socialize with others from the comfort of their home. To sign up, call 905-874-3348 to speak to a program co-ordinator. When the date and time arrives, call the number provided to enjoy the chats:

Build Your Own Birdhouse

Brampton Recreation is organizing a craft project to connect residents to the outdoors. You can build your own birdhouse using a ready-made supply kit provided by the city. Residents can decorate the birdhouse and share it with the city when they’re finished, using the image intake form.

Residents can pick up the birdhouse kit at Gore Meadows Community Centre, Cassie Campbell Community Centre, Chinguacousy Park Ski Chalet, Bob Callahan Flower Seniors Centre.

The pickup times are June 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and June 15 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Virtual Programs

There will be a variety of virtual programming in June, including virtual group fitness and virtual activities, which include Mason jar crafts and embroidery painting.

Registration is available for virtual fitness here and virtual activities here. Registration opens seven days in advance and closes the Friday prior to the workshop.
