Take the plunge with fast-track program that teaches skills, knowledge and judgment needed to become a certified lifeguard
The Town of Aurora is launching a new aquatics program that aims to help swimmers go from moderate skills to full-blown lifeguarding by the end of the summer.
Running from June 28 to Sept. 1, this fast-track program, dubbed Zero to Hero, teaches the skills, knowledge and judgment needed to become a certified lifeguard.
Lifesaving Society Bronze Medallion, Standard First Aid with CPR “C”, Bronze Cross and National Lifeguard: Pool, are a few of the courses you would do while you are in the program.
To be eligible, you must be at least 16-years-old by Sept. 3, be able to swim at least two lengths of the pool and tread water for a minute.
Interested individuals can register at aurora.ca/ePLAY using barcode #22358 in the ePLAY platform.
The course costs $50 and there are a limited number of spots open.
