A 51-year-old man has been charged after allegedly uttering racial slurs and spitting on staff at a Vaughan vaccine clinic.
York Regional Police Const. Laura Nicolle said the “hate-motivated assault” occurred June 2 at the COVID-19 vaccine clinic at Canada’s Wonderland.
A man became enraged and started yelling anti-Black slurs at one of the employees, Nicolle said. When he was escorted from the clinic, he allegedly began spitting on the employee and security officers.
Investigators tracked down the suspect and on June 10, Erez Harosh, of Vaughan, was charged with assault.
He’ll next appear in Newmarket court on July 13.
