Ontario reopened more businesses Friday-- including restaurant patios and some non-essential stores-- three days ahead of schedule. Premier Doug Ford announced the news, which comes after the province saw COVID-19 cases drop to the lowest level since September and over 10 million coronavirus vaccine doses were administered. In the new phase, which is the first of three:
- Restaurant patios will be limited to four people per table (except for big households, caregivers and those living alone).
- Non-essential retailers such as clothing and book shops can open but at a maximum of 15 per cent customer capacity, which will also hold for indoor religious services, including weddings and funerals.
- Indoor malls will remain shut.
- Outdoor fitness classes and personal training with up to 10 people, overnight camping, parks, zoos, and botanical gardens will also be allowed with some restrictions
