Vaughan's PineCrest Event Centre, 21 patrons issued tickets after operating despite Stay-at-Home order

York Regional Police assisted Vaughan bylaw in conducting liquor inspection May 15
The owner of PineCrest Event Centre banquet hall in Vaughan, as well as 21 other people, were issued tickets for failing to comply with the current Stay-at-Home order.
On May 15, shortly after 10 p.m., York Regional Police 4 COR Unit assisted Vaughan bylaw and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) in conducting a liquor inspection at the banquet hall located at 17 Vinyl Court.
According to Const. Maniva Armstrong, the AGCO had received information that the banquet hall was serving patrons indoors while hosting card gaming tables where gambling was allegedly taking place.
The AGCO also received a tip patrons were being snuck in and out of the building through the rear door.
Twenty-one customers who were found to be in contravention of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act were issued tickets for failing to comply with the current Stay-at-Home order amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vaughan bylaw identified the owner and issued a fine to PineCrest Event Centre, as well.
According to a York Region report, police handed out 37 non-compliance tickets from May 17 to 23.
Information regarding the charges are not released by the region, however YRP released details following a request from Yorkregion.com.
