At the end of the day, there is hope you will be vaccinated.

York Region Public Health is piloting an end-of-day wait list for people currently eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine but who have been unable to book an appointment during appointment releases. The wait list is being tested only at Vaughan’s Maple Community Centre clinic before being expanded to other clinics. The wait list allows residents to add their names to a list for the opportunity to receive an end-of-day dose that may be available due to a multi-dose vial being opened. A very limited number of doses may be available each day, up to a maximum of nine doses, according to Patrick Casey, director of York Region’s Corporate Communications.

Here are more details:

To be added to the waiting list, you must be available between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. that day AND able to visit the clinic within 15 minutes of being called. Adding your name to a wait list does not guarantee that you will be called or receive a vaccination.

The wait list is created for one specific clinic day only. Residents will need to add their name to a new wait list each day. Only people who meet the current eligibility for that clinic can add their names to the wait list.

You can book a spot on the wait list through the Maple Community Clinic only, listed at york.ca/COVID19Vaccine; the wait list feature looks similar to booking an appointment, but instead of a booking time, it will appear as a wait list.
