Richmond Hill Blooms is back and residents are invited to nominate attractive, colourful and well-maintained front gardens for recognition.

Between Friday, May 28 and Friday, July 2, residents can nominate friends, neighbours, relatives and even your own garden! When nominations open, fill out the online form at RichmondHill.ca/RHBlooms.

Every nominated residential front garden will be acknowledged with a recognition sign as part of the Richmond Hill Blooms program two-step judging process.

Following this recognition, a short list of best gardens will be identified by Richmond Hill staff horticulturalists. The Richmond Hill Garden and Horticultural Society will then select the top three gardens per ward.

To ensure fairness and provide equal opportunity for all residents, 2020 first-place winners in each ward will be ineligible from winning first, second or third place for a period of one year. They can still be nominated; however, they will not be considered for the top three gardens in their ward in 2021.

Entries should not include holiday decorations and must include horticultural features visible in the front garden.

Final judging takes place from Tuesday, Aug. 3 to Friday, Aug. 20. The top front gardens will receive a plaque and recognition on the city's website. Winning gardens will be announced this fall.
