York Region hits another COVID-19 vaccine milestone with 70% of adults vaccinated

Appointments remain available for the youth friendly clinics that begin tomorrow

With close to 700,000 doses administered to York Region residents, another milestone has been reached in the local COVID-19 vaccine rollout with 70 per cent of eligible adults receiving at least one dose as of today, May 26.

Of the 49,000 new vaccine appointments made available yesterday morning, about 9,000 remain available, including about 3,700 "youth friendly" appointments, according to York Region spokesperson Patrick Casey.

Anyone aged 12 and older who lives, works or goes to school in York Region can book appointments at york.ca/COVID19Vaccine.
Youth-friendly clinics are being held in Newmarket beginning tomorrow, including an entire weekend for families May 29 and 30 at Newmarket's Ray Twinney Recreation Complex.

To date, 690,249 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to York Region residents, including:
