While Walmart doesn't post employee COVID-19 cases publicly like other grocery stores, recent numbers sent to suppliers show a troubling trend at its Stouffville store, located at 1050 Hoover Park Dr.

Data sent out by Walmart show five employees have tested positive at the store since May 1.

On May 1, Walmart notified suppliers that an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The last day they worked was April 27.

On May 4, they notified suppliers that another employee at the store tested positive. The last day they worked was April 25.

On May 8, Walmart notified suppliers that three more employees at the Stouffville store had tested positive for COVID-19. The last days they worked were April 29, May 6 and May 7.

Walmart had previously confirmed the first two cases to YorkRegion.com.

When asked why Walmart doesn’t post its stores cases publicly like other grocery stores, a Walmart spokesperson failed to answer the question and said Walmart "responds transparently to requests received about the number of recent confirmed cases".

When an employee tests positive, associates identified as being in close prolonged contact are directed to self-isolate and Walmart works with public health on the situation, according to the spokesperson.
