COVID-19: UrbanToronto Updates from the Industry for April 6, 2021
April 7, 2021
The global COVID-19 pandemic is having far-reaching effects in Toronto, including major impacts on what have been booming real estate and building industries. As a means to keep the public in the loop about the shutdowns, we'll be sharing information and status updates from around the industry on a regular basis.
In today's report: Virtual public meetings continue in Vaughan
The City of Vaughan recognizes the importance of protecting citizens from the global COVID-19 pandemic while also continuing to move the city forward. Supporting this direction, electronic-participation for Committee of the Whole, Council and task force meetings will continue this month.
Public consultation remains a vital part of the planning and city-building process. While Vaughan City Hall remains closed to the public, there are many ways citizens can participate in meetings and have their say, including:
speaking live via teleconference to Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council during the meeting. To pre-register to speak at an electronic-participation meeting, send a completed Request to Speak form (PDF) to email@example.com or call Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281. Participants will be provided instructions on how to connect to the meeting. A test meeting will also be held before every electronic-participation meeting to allow participants to test their connection and software. Members of the public can connect through their own computer, smartphone or tablet.
speaking live from a telephone (regular landline or cellphone) during the meeting. To pre-register to speak via telephone, please contact the Office of the City Clerk at firstname.lastname@example.org or call Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281.
submitting a written communication for review by Members of Council as part of an agenda item. All written communications can be emailed to the Office of the City Clerk at email@example.com.
