11 grocery stores in York Region report positive COVID-19 cases as numbers surge across Ontario

No Frills, Longos, Shoppers Drug Mart, Food Basics, Loblaws, Fortinos and FreshCo stores all reported positive cases.

As the positive COVID-19 tests in Ontario skyrocket, the numbers are increasing in grocery stores in York Region.  In the past four days, there have been 11 grocery stores that have reported positive tests in the region.

In Vaughan, a No Frills employee tested positive for COVID-19 at the 3800 Rutherford Rd. location. The last day the team member worked was March 31.

Elsewhere in Vaughan, three Longos employees at the 9306 Bathurst St. location tested positive. The last days they worked were March 28 and March 25. A Shoppers Drug Mart employee at the same 9306 Bathurst Street address tested positive, as well. The last day they worked was March 29.

A Fortinos employee at the 8585 Hwy. 27 location in Vaughan tested positive. The last day they worked was March 31.

In Richmond Hill, a Loblaws employee at the 10909 Yonge St. location tested positive. The last day the team member worked was March 29.

A Loblaws employee also tested positive at the 301 High Tech Rd. location in Richmond Hill. The last day they worked was March 28.

A Food Basics employee tested positive at the 1070 Major Mackenzie Dr. location in Richmond Hill. The last day they worked was March 25.

In Markham, a FreshCo employee tested positive at the 9580 McCowan Rd. location. The last day they worked was March 24.

A FreshCo employee also tested positive at the 800 Steeles Ave. location in Thornhilll. The last day they worked was March 26.

Farther north in the region, a Longo's employee at the 650 Wellington St. location in Aurora tested positive. The last day they worked was March 27.

Two Longo's employees at the 18319 Yonge St. location in East Gwillimbury also tested positive for COVID-19. The last day they worked was March 30.

Three McDonald's locations in Vaughan also had positive tests in recent days. An employee tested positive at the 4535 Hwy. 7 location in Woodbridge. The last day they worked was April 2.

An employee also tested positive at the 3320 Steeles Ave. location. The last day the employee worked was April 1.

Two employees tested positive at the 3140 Rutherford Rd. location in Vaughan. The last day the employees worked was April 1 and March 26.
