Peel Region has ordered partial closures of three more businesses, including a candlemaker and a post office.
Premier Candle Corp., WG Pro-Manufacturing and a Canada Post branch in Mississauga were all required to partially close on Wednesday due to COVID-19 outbreaks in the workplace.
Under the region’s Section 22 order, introduced last week to crack down on workplace spread of COVID-19, the businesses will be required to partially close for at least 10 days.
The region does not specify how many cases were transmitted in the workplace before the shuttering.
Under the Section 22 order, a workplace with five or more COVID cases transmitted over a maximum of two weeks will be ordered to close either fully or partially.
Where businesses are closed partially, certain employees will be required to self-isolate while the business continues operating.
Some exceptions to the Section 22 order apply. Peel’s public health unit has said that the cases must have been “reasonably acquired” within the workplace for a closure to be required.
Peel has partially closed 10 business locations since the order went into effect last Friday. These include two Amazon warehouses, Paradigm Electronics Inc., Applewood Chevrolet GMC, Can Art Aluminum Extrusion Inc., Kintetsu World Express Canada Inc., and a Canadian Tire distribution centre
