A new multi-building condominium community is gearing up to rise on the west side of Bathurst Street at Beverley Glen Boulevard, a few blocks north of Promenade Mall in Thornhill. The Thornhill site is now a hive of construction activity, as the early stages of work advance for The Daniels Corporation and Baif Developments' project. Since the mid-2020 start of construction, shoring and excavation activity have prepped the site of the Kirkor Architects-designed buildings, which will range in height from 6 to 25 storeys. Most recently, the site passed an important construction milestone.
Earlier this month, concrete footings were installed at the northeast corner of the excavated pit's base--representing the first concrete forming within the pit--and then in mid-April, a tower crane was assembled in this location. It is now advancing the forming of the foundations and underground parking levels and will be used to construct the complex's tallest 25-storey tower, which will reach an eventual height of 81.68 metres above Bathurst Street.
Though this crane is specific to the project's eponymous first phase tower, the entirety of the site has been excavated, including where the 15-storey second phase, 'The Beverley'--still in sales--will rise, as well as the third phase buildings, which are now launching. Dubbed 'Boulevard', this final phase will bring 6- and 12-storey buildings to the west end of the site.
The first phase will bring 313 one- to three-bedroom suites to the site. Residents will enjoy a collection of HOK-appointed amenities including a gymnasium, party room, and fitness centre, as well as outdoor spaces like a terrace and urban gardening plots. The Beverley is to follow up with another 207 units to the south, while third phase Boulevard will introduce another 257 units. More than 6,000 ft² of new commercial retail will face Bathurst Street on the complex's ground floor.
