Incidence rate for COVID-19 cases in York Region reaches highest level of pandemic

The incidence rate for cases of COVID-19 in the region has reached the highest level of the pandemic to date, according to the latest update from York Region Public Health as of 5 p.m. April 10.
It confirmed 469 new cases as of the end of day Saturday.
Data reveals there are 203 (+10) new cases per 100,000 residents in the last seven days (incidence rate) with a 407 (+19) seven-day average of new cases.
A total of 4,452 tests were conducted on April 8, with 545 coming back positive representing a positivity rate of 12.2 per cent.
New hospitalizations, however, have dropped during the past seven-day period.
A total 37,652 cases of the virus have been confirmed in the region to date, with 90 per cent, or 34,001, being resolved.
The total case count around the region includes:
Vaughan: 15,951 (+221) cases, 1,369 (+59) active
Markham: 9,339 (+105) cases, 653 (+39) active
Richmond Hill: 5,286 (+84) cases, 488 (+35) active
Newmarket: 2,095 (+10) cases, 147 (-8) active
Aurora: 1,281 (+12) cases, 116 (-6) active
Whitchurch-Stouffville: 1,057 (+12) cases, 111 (+1) active
Georgina: 902 (+5) cases, 66 (-3) active
King: 859 (+9) cases, 69 (-2) active
East Gwillimbury: 819 (+10) cases, 62 (+2) active
At the same time, the province is reporting 4,456 new cases of the virus since April 9 in Ontario -- another single-day record for April 10 -- with 21 more deaths as ICU patients surpass 600 for the first time.
