Vaughan Walmart among recipients of tickets from York Region COVID-19 task force

Members of the York Region COVID-19 enforcement task force laid eight charges against residents and businesses across the region found to be non-compliant with public health restrictions and measures under the provincial Reopening Ontario Act from March 22 to 28.

Task force members conducted 1,159 inspections during the seven-day period. In addition to the charges, officials completed 331 compliance education activities.

Of the charges, four were handed out by York Region Transit and two by Richmond Hill bylaws officers. Markham and Vaughan officers handed out one charge each.

Charges by York Regional Police are not included in the region’s report.

Fines are $880, unless otherwise noted.
