Vaughan, Aurora, East Gwillimbury public schools closed due to COVID-19
Markham, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, King, Newmarket, Georgina, East Gwillimbury schools have new cases

Northern Lights Public School in Aurora has been closed to students from March 5 and will reopen March 15, as it has three cases of COVID-19, York Region District School Board reported March 8.
East Gwillimbury’s Our Lady Of Good Counsel Catholic Elementary School has also been closed due to COVID-19, with two confirmed cases and two closed classrooms leading to the decision.
The other new case from East Gwillimbury was reported at Park Avenue Public School, which has two confirmed cases in total.
Five schools in Markham have new cases of COVID-19.
Armadale Public School, Central Park Public School, Fred Varley Public School and Milliken Mills Public School each have a new case.
Lincoln Alexander Public School also reported a new case and has four confirmed cases in total, while the school remains open.
Three Thornhill schools, Bakersfield Public School, E.J. Sand Public School and Thornhill Woods Public School, each reported a new case of COVID-19.
Bayview Hill Elementary School in Richmond Hill also has a new confirmed case.
Seven Vaughan schools have new cases.
Johnny Lombardi Public School and Roméo Dallaire Public School both have one new case of COVID-19.
Woodbridge College has two new cases of the virus and three confirmed cases in total, and St. Cecilia Catholic Elementary School reported three new cases and two closed classrooms, while the school remains open.
Two Georgina schools, Morning Glory Public School and St. Bernadette Catholic Elementary School, each have a new case.
Notre Dame Catholic Elementary School in Newmarket also reported a new case of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, St. Mary Catholic Elementary School in King has three new cases and four classrooms have been closed. The school remains open.
York Region Public Health says it will communicate directly with people who had contact with the cases.
York Region District School Board and York Catholic District School Board will make sure that all appropriate measures are being taken.
