The intersection of Yonge Street and 16th Avenue is shaping up to be one of the busiest areas in Richmond Hill, where multiple highrise development applications have been proposed.

The City of Richmond Hill has received applications of a high-density residential/commercial development of two towers, 42 and 45 storeys in the area of South Hill shopping centre, across from Hillcrest Mall.

JUST THE FACTS:

Who: Whitehorn Investments Limited, Stephen-Mitchell Realty Limited, 891566 Ontario Limited and Ledbrow Investments Ltd.

Where: 9301, 9325 and 9335 Yonge St.

What: The applications seek to permit a high-density mixed-use residential/commercial development comprised of two towers, 42 and 45 storeys in height connected by a five-storey podium, with a combined total of 821 dwelling units, 756 parking spaces, a gross floor area of 69,407.70 square metres (747,122.71 square feet), ground floor commercial uses, and a Floor Space Index of 8.78 on a portion of the subject lands.

What next: The applications have been circulated to City departments and external agencies for review and comment. A Council Public Meeting will be scheduled and held at a later date, with formal notice being provided pursuant to the statutory requirements of the Planning Act.
