Residents will be able to see the final design for Newmarket’s landmark Mulock Farm at Facebook Live public event on March 9.

The meeting will showcase the final design concept and give residents a chance to explore the design and ask questions.

The vision is to create an iconic community park/outdoor green space.

With the design reveal, the town said it is one step closer to transforming the site into “an inclusive, diverse, natural and forward-thinking destination for the Newmarket community,” the town said in a statement.

The plan calls for a skating trail, artist residency, a fire pit for story-telling, a conservatory, a natural playground in the shape of a tree laid out on the ground, historic and Indigenous gardens, a slash pad, a great lawn for picnicking and other passive recreational opportunities and more.

The town purchased the 11.6-acre property at the northwest corner of Yonge Street and Mulock Drive in October 2018.

“Over the past two years, thousands of community members came together to learn about the Mulock Property, share their experiences and provide feedback on what they wanted this new park to be,” Mayor John Taylor said.

“With all the feedback gathered, we are ready to share the final design concept for this magical place that will bring joy to our community for years to come. I am excited for everyone to view the final design concept for the Mulock Property at this event and look forward to hearing your thoughts.”

The Facebook Live event will be held March 9 at 7 p.m. at facebook.com/TownofNewmarket.
