Another Catholic elementary school in Vaughan closed because of COVID-19

Another Catholic elementary school, St. Padre Pio in Vaughan, has been closed due to COVID-19, with one confirmed case.
The school will reopen April 6.
Three other Vaughan schools also have new cases of COVID-19.
Herbert H. Carnegie P.S. has one new case, Pierre Berton P.S. has one new case and two confirmed cases in total, and St. John Bosco CES has one confirmed case and one closed classroom.
In Richmond Hill, Christ The King CES reported one new case of COVID-19 and eight classrooms have been closed, while the school remains open.
York Region Public Health says it will communicate directly with people who had contact with the cases.
York Region District School Board and York Catholic District School Board will make sure that all appropriate measures are being taken.

Public Health reminds students and families not to enter school if they are feeling sick or have had close contact with a confirmed case or with someone who is showing symptoms of COVID-19.
