WHAT’S GOING ON HERE? Stretch of Rutherford Road in Vaughan to be temporarily closed

A section of Rutherford Road in Vaughan is going to be temporarily closed March 26 to 29.

JUST THE FACTS:

Metrolinx will be temporarily closing Rutherford Road between Westburne Drive and Peter Rupert Avenue from Friday, March 26 at 7 p.m. to Monday, March 29 at 4 a.m.

This work is related to the Rutherford Road Grade Separation project led by Metrolinx.

There will be no vehicular or pedestrian access on Rutherford Road between Westburne Drive and Peter Rupert Avenue.

There will be no GO train service from Friday, March 26 at 7 p.m. to Monday, March 29 at 4 a.m.

Crews will be working during the day and overnight for the duration of the closure.

For drivers, Metrolinx is building a parking structure that will add 1,200 net new covered spaces with direct connections to a new station building.

For pedestrians and cyclists, Metrolinx is building a bridge over Rutherford Road with dedicated bike lanes to give you more options for safely getting to the train station.
