Tracking the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in York Region

Just as we have been updating you daily since March 2020 on COVID-19 cases in York Region, yorkregion.com will now track every COVID-19 vaccine administered to residents.

A total of 97,019 vaccines have been administered, including 37,297 vaccines administered to people 80 years of age or older, as of March 17, according to York Region Public Health.

Among those who are 80 years old or older in the region, 71.1 per cent have received at least one dose.

In the meantime, Ontario has been administering vaccines throughout the province, albeit slowly due to supply issues. Below are provincial numbers, updated daily by the Toronto Star, yorkregion.com's sister outlet.

The number of doses administered may include health care workers who work in, but do not live in, York Region.
