48 charges at Vaughan address tops weekly list for COVID-19 non-compliance team

The York Region COVID-19 enforcement task force laid 48 charges at a single private residence to highlight the past week of non-compliance with public health restrictions and measures, from March 8 to 14.

One location in Markham, two in Richmond Hill, 14 in Vaughan and one in Newmarket have been charged under the Reopening Ontario Act.

In total, the non-compliance team filed 67 charges from 1,863 inspections.

All fines are $880 unless otherwise stated.

The locations are as follows:

Can-Asia Grocers Inc., 9699 Jane Street, Vaughan, fail to ensure that a person in the indoor area of the business of the premises is wearing a face covering, Vaughan Bylaw.

Designer Row, 17600 Yonge Street, Newmarket, no COVID-19 safety plan, no screening of employees, YR Public Health.

Down to Earth Natural Foods, 10720 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, Lack of masks worn by employees, YR Public Health.

Elements Nails and Spa, 9750 Weston Road, Vaughan, no COVID-19 safety plan, no screening of employees, YR Public Health.

Hero Certified Burgers, 3737 Major Mackenzie Drive West, Vaughan, fail to record the name and contact information of every patron that enters an area of the establishment, Vaughan Bylaw.

King Groceries and Halal Meat, 9699 Jane Street, Vaughan, fail to comply with any provision of the by-law, including an Order of Enforcement Order made under the By-law, Vaughan Bylaw.

Mimino Restaurant, 2180 Steeles Avenue West, Vaughan, fail to limit the number of patrons seated indoors so as to maintain a physical distance of at least two metres from every other person in the establishment and in any event not exceeding 10 patrons, Vaughan Bylaw.

Oud Cafe and Lounge, 3560 Rutherford Road, Vaughan, fail to limit the number of patrons seated indoors so as to maintain a physical distance of at least two metres from every other person in the establishment, and in any event not exceeding 10 patrons, Vaughan Bylaw.
